Our club's ordinary-seeming frontage conceals a club that will surprise.

Founded in 1894 in a house on Beatrice Road the club was later extended through the purchase of adjacent properties, including a cobblers' shop to create a space of remarkable proportions.

The Club is affiliated to the Club Institute Union - CIU

Inside, from the time you're greeted at reception you'll find lots of areas in which to socialise, relax, play games or be entertained. We have regular entertainment and there's a variety of games to be played, to league standard if you're competitive by nature, including specialist ladies events. Golf and angling sections for those who prefer outside sports also compete with other clubs.

Over 1700 members have discovered the delights that could be yours as a club member; there are over 320 Life Members and 15 HM Forces members.
